Finding the right resources for help can be a daunting task. Below are programs, Web sites, books, ect. that I highly reccomend.

Adoption Wellness
All children haqve a right to enjoy the world into which they are born. Unfortunately for some, beginning life in an institution presents unique challenges. Left unchecked these challenges can interfere with children's abilites to reach their physical, emotional and intellectual potential. Our team, encompassing occupational, sensory integration, psycho-social, brain integration and acupressure therapies is ready to identify these challenfing issues through a thorough evaluation and to provide the plan that will be most helpful to your child.

Life Enrichment Center
Brain Integration is a way of opening up the communication pathways in the brain that may have become blocked or shut down because of stress. Using acupressure and a system of applied physiology, a practitioner can access various areas of the brain and determine whether or not they are functioning at their optimum level or if there is a blockage.

Heritage Camps
Colorado Heritage Camps, Inc. serves as a post adoption resource and advocate for children and families with diverse heritages. We accomplish this by facilitating annual heritage camps, which provide culturally relevant and family-centered experiences for every member of the family. These camps provide an opportunity to share in a common experience that fulfills a sense of community and individual identity. It is our hope that every adopted child will leave a heritage camp knowing more about who they are and where they came from, and that every member of the family will have a better awareness of and sense of pride in their adopted child's birth heritage. The camps let children and families relish in being part of a larger group "just like themselves".

The Adoption Exchange
Through services provided by The Adoption Exchange, vulnerable children in need of families are adopted and those families are supported. Children adopted from foster care are able to recover from past trauma and move forward to build skills that will help them be productive and successful in the future. They are given the opportunity they deserve to reach their potential to live happy lives, to raise healthy children, and to help our communities thrive.
